Shaolin Kids Reunited

During the 90's I used to couch commando with the people in our house and change the channel to Star Mandarin and hoping that they will show these two Shaolin Kids which I grew up watching. Remember the fat cute shaolin kid and his brother the one that does the kung-fu???

Ever wonder how they are doing today??? LOL ME TOO!!! They're about my age. They're both 22. Cute kids.

cute!

So the elder one, the kung-fu kid is Ashton Chen or Shi Xiao Long, and he's still in the business. Doing good and looking great. He's in Taiwan and still doing martial art roles. They're so popular that this kid was invited by Regal Films here in the Philippines to do a movie with Vic Sotto. They even sang "butchikik". lol.

And the more adorable one is Kuk Sio Man or Hao Shao Wen. He isn't doing any films anymore and decided to study after the Shaolin series.  But HE IS THE MOST adorable thing in my childhood.

So I know this is late, but during 2009 they were both reunited in this one TV Show. I don't know if it's in Taiwan or Hong Kong. I'm just not sure. But it's really fun to watch these kids being reunited once again. Watching them for years was just a pure blast of childhood fun. Personally I liked the one with Takeshi Kaneshiro. They went to Hawaii I think. It's really cute. There was this one scene when they painted the fat kid's "ding dong" to look like an elephant's trunk. IN BLUE. lol.

JELLO APRIL!!! April Fools. April Foods.

Hi guyyyyyyyyyssss!!! It's April already!!! Sorry for updating so late, I've been and still on a food coma. For the past few weeks, I've been exploring the indoor markets of the bigger department stores here in Manila. My grand father dragged me to SM Makati grocery center and saw some good deals of fresh food. Surprisingly THEY'VE Got sh*tload of everything! We're in lent season here in the Philippines and we've been fasting and eating seafood for the past month. SM Makati has a lot of this and that to offer, I even bought some Fresh Mackerels which I first tasted raw in Spain. HEAVEN! I need to go to a food rehabilitation center. If you don't want to go to the rugged wet traditional market like Dampa (which I will feature later), then shopping mall markets are for you. Market! Market! Manila doesn't carry much selection for their seafood.

Fresh Tawilis or Sardinella, Dilis etc...
These are Pusit Bisaya a smaller variety of the regular squid

Tilapia
Bangus or Milkfish
Tanigue
Hi there
of course they have chicken
sardines of different brands. I think Philippines has more 100 brands of sardines
canned produce

BINONDO
So next thing is Binondo. Binondo is an enclave in Manila primarily populated by ethnic Chinese living in the Philippines. Chinatown, Manila (Binondo)) is the oldest Chinatown in the world, established in 1594. LOL that's from Wikipedia. But generally Binondo is where most of the Chinese (Hokien descent) community reside. It's the most populous Chinese community in the Philippines. It's also a community for bargaining, with businesses of about ANYTHING. Home and Deco, Car Parts, Food, ..EVERYTHING.

Binondo Church built in 1596!

of course if you're in Binondo, you wouldn't miss Eng Bee Tin's PURPLE fire trucks

DAMPA
Also! If you're in Manila, try not to miss DAMPA. It's this famous wet market in Manila, wherein you buy a bunch of fresh seafood from the market outside of the area, and then you give it to a restaurant of your choice (there are lots in the area btw) and they will cook it, the way you want it. There are tons of choices. TONS! And this is Philippines, everything comes in cheap!

Mercato
Mercato is an evening place for foodies like me. Well except for the fact that there a lot of people that come here and don't even understand what they're eating. lol. It runs from 10pm till 3am during fridays. 7am till 2pm on Saturdays and resumes by 10pm till 3am. Then on Sundays? I don't know. lol. ALRIGHT! Come late during weekends, seats are packed from 10 to 11.
deep dish. which is... blah.

And have you guys seen SUCKER PUNCH???. I watched it with Cath. She didn't like it. I LIKED IT. I think it's weird, girly, hot and confusing. The kinds that I like. It's just so weird that I never saw her dance. The weirdness of it is soooo confusing that your head veins are having tremors. I liked it. she's HAWT and she kinda looks like Diana Agron. watchutink? baby doll, sweet pea, amber, blondie and rocket. I love them!

oh btw. I have an internship interview with a celebrity couple this coming week. lol. Wish me luck!!! i'll update if I get it. If I don't, then life goes on. :))))))))
