Pressure + Rock Nightout = Steady

Omg tomorrow is my exam and I still feel like I have a lot of crap in my mind. I'm still stick though. I've got no sense of taste and smell and I'm worried for my exam tomorrow. My sauce might taste like water. LOL. I hope not. But anyway, tomorrow my exam will start at 8:30am. We are the first group in Cuisine to be evaluated. I MUST WAKE UP EARLEHHH!!! But anyway as soon as the draw lots begin for the recipes, then we are given extra 20 more minutes to study and off we go and cry and work our asses. I HOPE I DON'T GET THE RABBIT! or else... you know.

But anyway culinary school has been fun this week, though I was absent last tuesday. But no big deal at all. But still I'm worried for tomorrow. First thing I have to worry, is waking up early for tomorrow!!! I must do that. Then next is my exam. Then all will be good. GRR. :)))) okay ill shut up now. :) This week we made

Canard A' L'OrangeJambonnette of Poultry and Caramelized Apples
Sea Bream Fillets with Fennel ( i hate fennels)

And for the demo recipes we had

Escargot Tart
Bacon with Warm Goat Cheese Salad
Chocolate Mousse with Orange
Rissoles with PearsGuinea Fowl with Cabbage
and our last practical photo with Chef Wilfrid

Well anyway after that, me and Bonbon planned for something tiring for the day. We went to see the Comme des Garcons shop at Erawan and boy it was amazing!! I didn't buy anything though since I'm so broke right now and I need to save up for summer! Then we headed to Central World to have a late dessert at After You. It's an awesome place full of sweet treats. Just right across the cinema center. We also went to see "When in Rome". It was a bit cheesy and cheaply made. But worth seeing.

After everything else, we ended up in Khao San where we watched BonBon's friend play for the night at Gazebo. It's like a Moroccan venue, kinda chill, with antique furniture everywhere. We also went to see Steven and Vicky. Glad these guys came. But anyway, it was a steady night. Time to study for my recipes again!!! This is going to be my last weekend in Bangkok and next weekend ILL BE IN MANILALALALALA!!! Hope to see everyone soon! Wish me luck on my exam.

That's it from Bangkok. All the love and peace. Wish me luck again.

Wonderful Thai Family + Filipino Best Friends = SICK WEEK!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. Thats ALL I CAN SAY!

I am soo soo happy this week! My best friends came to Bangkok! Totally the highlight of my stay here.

Anyway this week has been very productive for me. Except for the another accident I had in the kitchen last week. This time, I totally scraped off my nail from my finger and the knife went through inside my finger. RAWWWRR!! It hurts like hell!!! But my finger is happy now. Nothing really happened fun in culinary school this week. But next week is gonna be the practical exam and earlier I just had my written exam, in which I think I did fair enough. Probably 90% sure enough about everything else. But anyway this week we made...

Fish Mousse Terrine with Salmon Stuffing and Butter Sauce
Chicken in classic cuts with Tarragon Sauceand Sauteed Chops with Pommes Dauphine

And for the demo recipes...

Scrambled Egg with Salmon and Puff PastryCreamy Bavarois and ChantillyApple Slices with Meringue and Raspberry Sauce
Gnocchi Perfumed with BasilFresh Fruit Gratin with SabayonTrout Flan with Port Wine

see, I told you he's okay... LOL

Okay after school Me, Bunny, Raymond and Terrence went into Soi 4 (almost 1 more soi away from red light district :p) to check out this Italian Restaurant that everyone kept on talking about. It was cozy inside and a bit overdecorated, but it was all good since everything were placed strangely unique. Little did I know that the owner is an Italian which also happens to be the professor of my friend from an Interior Designing School. The place is called Vicolo 4. Check the site for more photos. This is how it looked like.

some art worksand their overlooking window with a giant framed projector screen. they were playing The Police that time.

The next day I met up with Bonbon to go to the grocery at Emporium and buy the ingredients for my Quiche, since I really want to practice it. We had lunch at Fuji after. And on the way from Emporium to Bon's house, we saw a rally of Red Shirts around Phra Kanong. We were stuck in traffic for 45 minutes. (that's nothing in Manila) hahaha :P But anyway we got there safe. I met Bon's dogs, grandma, best friend and her sister for the first time.

We had to practice our recipes since exam is forthcoming, mine was the Quiche Lorraine and Bon made her Pear Tart. And her sister gave me a big block of some fine Gruyere cheese.... I didn't take it though. I just gave it back and used a little bit of it. But anyway me and Bon were rolling our dough bases during mid-day in an open air kitchen! :)))) Our doughs we're melting even if it just came right out of the freezer. But we did good and served to Tiki (Bon's sister) because it was her birthday. So glad that this family invited me even if I'm a total stranger to them :)))) We had lamb chops, fries, green curry pasta, salad and cakes. It was allllll good. I love this family <3<3<3>
Thank you Ramasoot Family! :)we used stones from outside to blind bake our crust. hahathe Gruyerered shirts
I got back at Saladaeng so late. This was the last ride.

------------------------PART 2----------------------

Okay it was already planned that my friends are coming to Bangkok to visit me. They had a side trip first from Saigon then to Siem Reap. It was just a total jealousy. Their pictures came out really great.
But anyway since they're coming from Siem Reap on a bus to Bangkok, I really didn't know where their stop would be. They were supposed to be in my apartment 4 hours earlier than expected but oh well the border immigration took them on hold for 3 hours. FANTASTIC. But all is well. They arrived safe. They had a 12-hour bus ride. The next day, I didn't go to them to the Grand Palace since I have to attend school, to get the last recipe exam for next week. But I followed them to Suan Lum to tour them around the night market. The next day, since I really want to go with them, I had to miss school. Karma? I got sick. LOVE ETT!! But it was worth being absent in school!!!

We went to Kao San road in the middle of the night to catch the late band at Centre Point. We had Pad Thai after at 3 am!!! BANGAG!!! And we went to Platinum Mall, Siam Square, Paragon, Central World the next morning. It was just fun to catch up with my friends. All the gossips that I missed and their leave without pay from work concerns. hahahahaaha. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
