BUT FIRST OF ALL!!! CONGRATS TO SERENA AND ROGER! Australian Open at its FINEST! THESE PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY TENNIS!!!

Heyyyyllowww everyone! Oh god I've been going out for THREE days straight now. People are just fun here in Bangkok. But if I do this every weekend, I'd be broke. LOL.

SOOOO... After the Irish Pub Night, me and the people from BC 1 group met up again for this Super Club in Sukhumvit 23 called NARZ. It's more likely comparable to the Ministry of Sound in Singapore and Malaysia. This huge place caters to three genres (Rock, Rnb & Hiphop and Techno). This is where you would see the younger upper class of Bangkok. I guess. This place is fun, well at least they've got some music we understand... The Rock Band area last night were slightly playing Thai Songs and we just couldn't relate :P But good place... Entrance is 400 baht with 2 drinks of any kind.

Narz's Lobby
Hip-Hop / RnB room

Okay move along now, it was a fun Friday night!!! But yesterday (Saturday) was just "consuming/draining" market day. I guess you know where I was yesterday. YEAH! Chatuchak. Oh god this place is huuuuuuge AND a lot cheaper than Platinum Mall. Endless goods, endless food, endless HEAT. hahaha... I wanna go back to this place, but not for a few weeks. If I told you guys that Platinum Mall is the headquarters of all cheap bargaining, well then this is the heaven station. EVERYYYYTHING you could think of. They've got such areas for animals (pets) , furniture, CLOTHING, food ohh what else. just come here. It's reachable via BTS and MRT. I didn't get anything though. It's just too crowded.

FYI, this is not even half of Chatuchak.
We even found an Anti-American Shop. With a shoe dart. LOL
these people...tsk tsktsk.. :))))
and whoever said I was complaining?!@?$#@this should be alive 20 years after...

Earlier though I didn't get to hear Mass. I'm clueless here. But i got to play tennis at my classmate Pang and Jeff's place. They've got a nice court in there!!! THANK YOU GUYSS!!!

OHHH TODAY IS FEBRUARY NOW!!! Hmmm 13 days till VALENTINE'S. But anyway school resumes tomorrow!!! We are making quiche.

End of the WEEK - Pissaladiere is a pain in the ass!

FEECCKK!! IT'S RAINING AGAIN!

Oh my so yesterday was a really fun day! I don't know but I'm really liking it here especially when you gain new friends and they're just as fun as "FUN". For cuisine majors, we are 3 separated groups. Basic 1,2, and 3.

Yesterday I was about to breakout from my practical class. We made Pissaladiere, it's sort of pizza kinda thing. But anyway while on practical, we were asked to knead our doughs and rest it to make it rise. Well mine was liquidy-ish. I think Chef got pissed at me because I didn't scale my ingredients well. I was really about to walk out, but no... I have to pass this. So he floured it and mix it again and made me knead again!!! I was 15 mins late!! My classmates were already in degustation and mine was still in the oven. I said to myself "oh sh#% Biboy, ang tanga tan ga mo talaga!!!". Sides of my eyes were almost tearing from embarrassment and too much discouragement. But I don't know, my Pissaladiere came out really REALLY I mean REALLY good. Crispy crust, fluffy dough and my toppings and onion base were good. Well it came from Chef's mouth that it's "good" and that it was a "miracle" to what happened to my dough... Question, WHY DOES IT KEEP ON HAPPENING??? BECAUSE I'M A GOOD PERSON! hahahahaahahah ...Oh god, I thought it wasn't my day, but oh well. Good vibes.

the most challenging so far! Pissaladierie - I hate you! haha
demo was Cannelloni w/ tomato and pesto
before practical

So since I've got 3 extra rest days, that means Thursday is our weekender starter kinda day. ?%$# We invited people to go with us to this Irish Pub in Silom called O'Reilley's. On Thursdays they slash prices from their beers, luckily Tiger beer is for Thursdays. People were almost drunk. All had at least 4 big glasses and a shot of bourbon. It was a super fun night!!! United Nations at its best! better than doing Model UNs.

ASIANS UNITE! WATTAA!!!!
Darren and Vicky from HK, Bunny from Singapore and Bai from Thailand
Raymond (black) from NY, Mont (blue) from Thailand
Steven from Vietnam
and yes I know who made this mess... the one who had 2 pints of beer. haha

Too many things happened and still I'm surprised, I don't miss Manila. No nostalgic feeling and all that, but you know I'm craving for a good Adobo.

shuckzzzz...that looks so good.

WELL THAT'S IT FOR NOW!!! All the love from Bangkok

Babinella - 4th Practical Class

TODAY I RODE MY 1ST DEATH-DEFYING TUKTUK!!! SORT OF FUN. :S

Today is January 26... And today is somewhat a productive one for me. I'm kinda tired from what happened today... Culinary school is fun!!! I just can't wait for our next practical and demo class. Earlier we made Fish Fumet which we used for our Fish in dry white wine and the stock. This has been so far the hardest we made since we had to clean, scale, de bone and fillet the fish and pre-heat the plate in an oven...

My fillet was bad! REALLY BAD!!! I was actually peeling the flesh itself. !!!
Grr.. Well it turned out to be "OK" but I'm sure I didnt get an A+. Chef said that there's nothing wrong with how it turned out. It was good actually, but I served it cold. DA WORST!!! HAHAHAHAHA... but I'm glad i heard the word "good". That's enough for me. But no A+ this time.

Btw, we got yelled at earlier because we we're too slow with everything (well not me) but some... Slow because we had to use hot water while cleaning our utensils. hahaha that's just too painful..But I think i'm getting used to it... RAWRRR!!! Must. do. better. next. time... Oh on thursday we will be making pasta dough!

We Cisele-ed some shallots.
Mine turned out to be as good as this. MINUS THE HEAT.
our class is 90% thais, minus me & raymond and the 2 girls from hong kong
our practical room. "CLEAN YOUR STATIONS!!!"
GO PILIPINAS! haha malapit na pala eleksyon jan ano??

My shirt drew a lot of attention. Here in BKK it's hard to point out a Filipino unless he/she speaks. So my shirt did all of the talking. Just wait till you will hear someone say "UYY PILIPINO KA?". I'm just so glad... I'm craving for an ADOBO this time! People here don't eat pork as much as how make it as a staple food. hahahahaha TOTOO NAMAN EH.

Btw, have you guys been watching the Australian Open 2010???? RAFA WITHDREW??? So I guess I'll just have to stick with Roddick and Venus! OH, Venus looks wonderful btw.... I've been seing too much yellow this season. I hope Venus will get it this time!!! FINGERS CROSSED!!!

SO that's my lazy update for today!!! Not much of a buzz week. My mom is leaving on Friday here in BKK. ANYWAY!!! ALL THE BEST FROM BANGKOK! I have to laundry my whites and listen to Keyshia Cole. BUHH-BYE!!

PEACE OUT

I CAME TO BANGKOK W/ A WEATHER LIKE THIS!

and today its like this!!! #$%$#$#$#$!!!#%&(*(*&^^!!!!!

Today is Sunday... and it was raining hard at around 1pm. We were still tired from our Platinum Mall escapade. Btw!! the moment I saw Platinum, I was like OH MY FFFF GOD!!! 6 FLOORSSS!!!! It's like the headquarters of all tiangges in the whole wide world. It's like Suan Lum + 168 Mall + Siam Square + Chatuchak all in one!!! 6 floors of endless choices. This is where wholesale bargaining happens. If you think you had enough shopping in Hong Kong, wait till you get here in Bangkok. It's really the best place for impulsive buyers.

In culinary school, I only have 4 days of practical and demo classes which means I get to spend 3 slugger days. Me and my mom went to Tesco Lotus to check out their stuff. This one is a huge place! Everything for your home. We bought a clothing rack for my apartment and some tabo and balde since i really can't live without them. And of course palanggana. Hay mura. I'm really loving it here in BKK. Everything has been so nice!!! Taxi drivers were....ok. People are SOOOO nice... And yes I've already met some Filipinos outside school.

So earlier again I was at Central World then headed to Venue which carries Jeremy Scott x Adidas stuff. The ones you see in Looklet, they all have it! haha :))) I wanted to buy the Conductor Hi Jeremy Scott, but since another batch is arriving on March, I think i'll just wait and concentrate with culinary school. And because I am so desperate for sneakers, I still went to Adidas Originals store and saw these... Which one shall I get for the meantime?

And BTW, all of the 2ne1 stuff, they have it too!!! Goshnessnesesess I really love 2ne1. I wanna be one!!! People know it, because i've been telling it to everyone!!! Just look how hot they are! Their stylists btw are students of Central Saint Martins and Chelsea College of Art and Design. Of course they're Koreans. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE 2ne1. Please send me those Margiela sunglasses!!! :))))))

and so I heard from the grapevine that Dr. Dre himself sent these Beats specially made for 2ne1!
DEYmmmm ALL JEREMY SCOTTs!!!
okay i think i posted too much 2ne1 photos....

ANYWAY!!! all the best from BKK!!! I've got class again tomorrow!!! I'm wishing for a blood free fingers. See you all

QUICK POST

Demo Classroom

HELLO guys. Today is my 4th day of Culinary School at Le Cordon Bleu Dusit. I've been here for almost a week now and still I don't miss Manila. But HEY FRIENDS!!! I MISS YOU ALL!!! shet! wala akong makausap dito ng tagalog! haha... pero infairness, magkamukha tayong lahat! chos. I will be expecting you guys here!!! LABYU ALL.

So last Tuesday we made Crab Bisque. God, it was really hard. We had to use a rolling pin to crush all the crabs and Giraffe mixer it, soups were going out anywhere and imagine our uniforms are white... But mine came out really good. Except for my plating which Chef told me that my plate was greasy and he could write on it! Anyway, I cannot tell the recipe because LCBD will definitely subject me for an immediate expulsion if I do that. hahaha...But yes we're not allowed to reproduce it. SorrEEYYY!!! Hope you could smell it from your screens. ^___^ AND yes!!! i've got another cut!!! Make it 3 then! FANTASTIC.

Chef Arnaud demoed 3 soups yesterday. Dubarry Cream, Watercress soup and the Crab Bisque. We made the bisque for the practical class and the 2 were just demo recipes.

Dubarry Cream
Watercress soup
Crab Bisque

And so yesterday Chef Arnaud finished the Marmite which we will be using this afternoon in making Consomme with Vegetable Brunoise. If you don't know what brunoise is, it's a 2mm dice of veggies. AND i'm worried still with my vegetable cuts. So anyway, the demo yesterday were all soups again. Chef made the Consomme, the Onion Soup and the Fish Soup Marseille style.

Chef Arnaud
this is what we will be making later (look at those dices of mini dices!!!)
the fish soup
the french onion soup. i died.

ALL HAS BEEN GOOD SO FAR!!! At 3:10 pm ill be going to school and throw in my whites. BTW, we are not allowed to walk from or to school with our uniforms on! We have to dress in our lockers. Hygiene is very important here in my school and our clogs should only be used inside the LCBD. As far I can remember, I used to see CSB students walking with their clogs around taft avenue and even to the mall. hahahahaha

Anyway, All the best from Bangkok!

First Day of Culinary School

Hey guys!!! I just came back from school an hour and a half ago. Im tired. And ive got two cuts on my left and right fingers! FANTASTIC.

So yesterday was my birthday. We were at Gaysorn Mall it's like their Greenbelt 4 + 5 + Rustan's. You can find anything here, but personally I think I like Siam Paragon better than Gaysorn. So we headed to Longchamp and while entering the store, this beautiful thing surprised me... So you know what i did.

Bangkok traffic. But believe me, Manila is much worse.
our merienda place
and yes they've got SAN MIGUEL BEER!

So after that, me and my mom went to Central Plaza, just in front of Gaysorn. With an overpass connecting to the other side. Everything was on sale @ ZEN... My mom saw this beautiful white Mexx dress. It was priced from 13,500 down to 1,900 baht. Then Topshop/Topman were also on sale, they had a buy 1 take 1 deal (cheaper item is free). We don't have that in the Philippines!!!

OKAY! So i just realized now... "What does this have to do with my first day in culinary school?"

Whatever.... So anyway. Culinary school was great!!! But im too damn tired right now! I met people from Singapore, Vietnam, US, HK and of course the 2 girls from the Philippines. I'm just so happy that i get to talk to someone in my own language. People really think I'm thai. The demo class was fun! Instructions were a little fast, but all is good! and my Practical class was just the same. We made Rustic Vegetable Soup. My vegetable cuts were horrible!!! But it's okay, it's my first day!! I didn't know that my soup would take me 2 hours and 30 mins to cook!!! I was so slow... from cleaning my station to packing my things. But I was happy with how it turned out. My plating was good and the taste was...well...like a soup. hahahaha....no, it's actually great! Here's how Chef Arnaud made it.

mine was a little paler than that! haha

But for the past few days we were at Suan Lum Bazaar to check out Sneaka Villa. They have every expensive sneakers you could imagine. If you want cheap thrills, then Suan Lum is definitely a place to visit here in BKK. BUT TAKE NOTE: because of our "katangahan" we forgot that it's a night bazaar. We went there at around 4pm. FANTASTIC, They start @ 7pm!!!

thai furniture shop
puppet theater at Suan Lum
my first ever Thai Designer clothing from WWA (harem pants)

Anyway, that's it from Bangkok!!! I'll sleep now. Hope my cuts will heal! :)))))))))))

XOXO BABINELLA!!
